The front of the line starts with the depalletization of containers to feed the downstream equipment for the filling, closing and palletizing processes. This is the first crucial point, from customer raw materials storage to the production phase. The installation performed in the depalletization area goes beyond the meaning of depalletizer, because automatic depalletization of folded carton to be feed in case erector, or dumping unit for caps and bottles to unscramblers, have been successfully installed. All Clevertech depalletizers are designed to allow the proper storage and return of consumables back to the raw material suppliers,such as tie sheets, top frames, and empty pallet strategically placed cameras record operations for storage in the cloud. This footage of shift operations can then be analysed to identify alarm triggers, for root-cause identification.

The flexibility delivered by automation enables full customization of the solutions, which can adapt precisely to specific product-handling requirements. The sweep off depalletizer head is suitable for handling rigid-side-wall containers, such as bottles or cases.
With vacuum layer picking, Clevertech can handle light rigid containers with unstable forms, such as shaped plastic jars, personal care primary packs or flexible packages. Magnetic heads for depalletization are ideal for steel containers.
Eight different types of primary-packaging product materials can be managed by Clevertech depalletizers.

DEPALLETIZING SYSTEMS

Regarding the front-end of packaging lines, the company has significant experience in the supply of automatic robotic dumping units for caps and bottles, with direct interface with AGVs. Clevertech supplies not only depalletizing systems, but also integrated solutions for the robotic feeding of folded cases to the carton forming machinery magazine.

Clevertech’s front-of-packaging-line solutions can have two set ups, floor level installation or high-level with operating platforms.

Both can be customized to suit a clients’ specific needs.

An important aspect of the front-of-lines system is to have the right quantity of product being fed at the required speed.

At the same time, the automation has to maintain the integrity and quality of container box-layouts without damaging them.

These two requirements seem to be an obvious target, but the desynchronization with downstream machines and reduced container box-layout quality are two of the most common causes of line stoppages.

Thanks to vertical integration of data exchange with a customer’s ERP solution, and with the support obtained by PackML, Clevertech offers seamless connectivity to other equipment, maximum synchronization and precise product-quantity control.
